The melancholic sounds and fluid rhythms of Swedish folk music lend themselves naturally to jazz interpretation. Dating back to the 30's, Jan Johansson, Monica Zetterlund, Lars Gullin, Arne Domnérus, and Jan Lundgren are but a few of the many deeply talented Swedish musicians that over the years have artfully meshed Scandinavian melody with American jazz tradition, some traveling to the USA to collaborate with other jazz legends.

Connee Boswell inspired Ella Fitzgerald who inspired Monica Zetterlund, who in turn inspired Anna-Frida. And so the tradition continues into the next generation. Anna-Frida interprets our song treasure with a harmonic jazz cadence. A discriminating audience of music lovers will be pleased to know that jazz is still alive and well.
